Giallo diVino (Mystery in the Vineyard) Staff Writer - June 4, 2004
Giallo diVino is a smart Italian play on words that could mean "Divine Detective Story", or "Wine Detective Story", or "Yellow-Wine Color". In fact, "giallo" means "detective story" as well as the color "yellow", and "divino" means "divine', but sounds exactly as "di vino" which means either "of wine" or "referring to wine"). The event is promoted by the O.R.M.E. Cultural Association, which manages the Michele Chiarlo Park and is supported by Milan's Libreria del Giallo, or Detective Story Bookstore.
The event takes place at the Orme Su La Court, the art park in the vineyard at Castelnuovo Calcea, in the Asti province (see the photo gallery), and has the combined goals of promoting the territory as well as mixing various arts such as literature, enology, music, movies, theatre and gastronomy. It is a mental journey during which participants are not supposed to discover the killer, but rather to dig into the mystery of wine, exchange ideas and suggestions, investigate some of Italy's favorite mystery writers, enjoy the pleasures of drinking and reading well, alll the while appreciating a weekend with interesting people.
