Enrollment for the course "The Wine - First Level", promoted by Slow Food is open. It is old news that general interest in wine is on a growing trend worldwide, as is the number of people and wine lovers interested in knowing more about the subject. The overall curiosity extends past the general information into the production methods and techniques and, most of all, the language of the trade.
Answering this growing demand, the Condotta Slow Food "Valle Telesina", organized the course "The Wine - First Level" as part of the wider project known as Master of Food, the very first Università Popolare del Gusto, or Popular University of Taste.
The course is held at the Torre Gaia Farm in Contrada Boscocupo, Dugenta, Benevento. It includes six lessons and focuses especially on the basics of wine tasting, including visual examination, olfactory examination, taste and taste-olfactory examinations, in addition to correct wine serving, combining food and wine, storage and regulating laws. Last but not least, the events includes tasting and discussion of some of the best Italian wines.
The course calendar is from December 1 to 22, 2003 and includes: Monday 1, Wednesday 3, Tuesday 9, Monday 15, Wednesday 17 and Monday 22. At the end, all participants receive a certificate of participation, which counts as credits to those who plan to continue toward achieving the Master of Food Training.
