WineCountry.it Gold Medal

Welcome to Volume 1, Number 2 of Wine News, the e-letter from WineCountry.IT.

In addition to witnessing the completion of what will be remembered as an extraordinarily early vintage year throughout Europe, September 2003 saw a lot happening at our WineCountry.IT virtual estate online as well.

Grand opening of WineCountry.IT bookstore
We partnered with Amazon.com and iBS.it, Internet Bookstore Italia, respectively the largest online bookstores in English and Italian, to bring you exciting book selections focused on Italian enogastronomy including wines, cuisine, recipes, regional specialties, cultural traditions, and Italian lifestyle.

Grand Opening of WineCountry.IT Company Store
We partnered with San Leandro, California-based CaféPress.com to launch WineCountry.IT Company e-Store featuring brand items ranging from casual, relaxed and comfortable clothing, to travel accessories and more.

In addition to interesting and exciting Wine News as usual, from Italy, Europe, the United States, and the rest of the world, the health focus this month is on a Greek study that links the Mediterranean diet with healthier and longer lives. We toast to this, as the Mediterranean cuisine is as delicious and gratifying as it gets.

The October 2003 Company of the Month is Jerzu Antichi Poderi, the third and last of our Sardinian winery "trilogy". In the last ten years Sardinian wine quality has risen consistently, thanks mainly to the dedication, excellent research and production work of local winemakers. In this panorama, Jerzu Antichi Poderi has been the champion in refining and marketing the Cannonau, a traditional, full-bodied Sardinian red wine made from a local grape.
