The objective of the second Orcia Wine Festival, the wine exhibition/trade show created and organized by the municipality of San Quirico d'Orcia which will take place at Palazzo Chigi from April 29 to may 1, is to celebrate the products of a traditional passion one glass at a time, while promoting the quality wines produced in the area.
""It is a lucky coincidence that a Sicilian product became the one thousandth certified products, as there were one thousand red shirts landing in Marsala, Sicily, with Garibaldi 150 years ago, uniting Italy as one single country. It is almost as if even our traditional products celebrate the 150th anyversary of our country," said the Italian ministry of Agriculture, Giancarlo Galan.
The gentle slopes of the hills dotted by medieval towns and villages, tucked between the Adriatic Sea and the high Apennines is waiting, with gifts of fragrant truffles, rich extra virgin olive oil, and native vines such as the white grape Verdicchio (Greenish) and the red Lacrima (Tear).
