The new decade of 2010
started with a lot going on that kept us busy literally around the clock.
To start with, on January 7 I participated in an interesting and highly educational seminar on the health benefits of extra virgin olive oil. The event, organized with funds provided by the European Union, took place at the Nikko Hotel in San Francisco, California.
Then, from the 17th to the 19th, the 35th Winter Fancy Food Show, San Francisco took place at the Moscone Center. At the show, the Sardinia region promoted the excellent wine and food from the Italian island by way of cooking and serving three-course meals, prepared by two chefs who had traveled from Italy for the occasion.
WineCountry.IT closed the month sponsoring the launchof Italian film 'I Am Love,' by director Luca Guadagnino at the Sundance Film Festival.
We are now getting ready for the next trip to Italy, to participate in the trade show DiVino Lounge, which is part of the larger wine and food trade show Sapore 2010 (Flavor 2010), which takes place in the Mediterranean sea town of Rimini.
We also published an article on the interesting and educational E-Book which teaches readers how lose weight for good with the Mediterranean Diet. The e-book was written by Dr. Enrico Forte and may be downloaded for free.

 Monday, January 25, 2010, WineCountry.IT, L.L.C., in association with Italian wine estates Caliscana and Tenuta La Carlina s.a.s., Smeraldina mineral water, and Centellino AreaDiVino, proudly sponsored the cocktail party to present an Italian movie entitled 'Io Sono L'Amore' (I Am Love), by director Luca Guadagnino, which took place in Park City, Utah, at the Julie Nester Gallery.

Sardinian Delicacies at Fancy Food Show Winter 2010 |

Once again the Sardinia region invested in an outstanding presence within the Italian pavilion. This year two chefs, Luigi Pomata, owner of the restaurant with the same name in Cagliari, Achille Pinna, owner of the Albergo Ristorante Moderno in Sant'Antioco, were part of the team representing the enogastronomy of the Italian island.

The event, funded by the European Union and organized by UNASCO, the Italian Association of Olive Grower Organizations (Associazione Organizzazioni Produttori Olivicoli) under the auspices and with the assistance of the Italian Consulate General of Italy in San Francisco, was introduced by UNASCO president, Dott. Elia Fiorillo.
