December is here, and with Thanksgiving the holiday season has officially been kicked off in the US.
November brought us Vino Novello and various Fall festivals and trade fairs, but at WineCountry.IT it was quiet compared to the previous month, so much so that I was able to spend a traditional Thanksgiving with the midwestern branch of the family.
December, on the other hand, starts fairly frantically. In fact, barely had I returned from a weeklong stay in Des Moines, Iowa, than I am re-packing to fly to Europe to participate in Più Gusto, the International Taste Fair in Lugano, which will take place in the Swiss city from Saturday the 5th, to Tuesday the 8th of December, 2009.
Among the articles below, are various announcements of trade shows which take place in the first months of 2010, and a short, funny article, enriched with several images, about sexy wine labels.
Also, don't miss the article about the Sardinian diet, which is believed to be responsible for the longevity of the islanders.
In addition, we introduce three guides:
• Vini Buoni d'Italia 2010
• 101 Vini da Bere (101 Must-Drink Wines) - At Least once in a Lifetime and Spending Little Money
• Flos Olei 2010: Guide to the Best Extra Virgin Olive Oils in the World
Happy reading, and Happy Holidays to all!!! Loris Scagliarini, WineCountry.IT President |
