WineCountry.it Gold Medal

Welcome to the Volume 1, Number 0 of Wines News, the e-letter from WineCountry.IT.

In addition to news and information about Italian enogastronomy and traditions, the Wine News e-letter brings you original articles and articles re-printed from the international press about the international wine scene in relation to Italian wine production and distribution. Finally, WineCountry.IT introduces the Company of the Month, a review of notable enogastronomy and tourist- related companies. The reviews will include files on both well-established enterprises and young, promising start-ups.

August 2003 Company of the Month is the Cantina del Vermentino, the first of a "trilogy" dedicated to Sardinian wineries. Following a recent trip to Italy of the president and vice-president of WineCountry.IT, the news department decided to dedicate three months in a row to three special wineries from this region. In the last ten years Sardinian wine quality has risen consistently, thanks mainly to the dedication, excellent research and production work of local winemakers.
