VIII Salón del Vino en Chile (Eighth Wine Salon in Chile)
Staff Writer - July 20, 2007

VIII Salón del Vino en ChileThanks to several events like the Eighth Wine Salon, or VIII Salón del Vino en Chile, South America is creating a new wine business platform that is reaching over 65,000 wine contacts in the trade, press and gatekeepers of twelve countries. The event is confirmed for September 7 and 8, 2007, in Espacio Cero (Space Zero), in the City of Concepción, in the Bio Bio Region.

The exhibitors lists include producers of spirits, organic products, olive oil, beer, and gastronomic products. Some of the wineries which have confirmed their presence there are J. Bouchon, from Maule Valley, Tierra y Fuego, Männle, Tierras de Arrau, Casas de Giner, Casanueva, Valle de Itata, Viñedos Larqui, Peré André Cheeses, and J&F Lurton, who presents wines from France, Argentina and Chile.

In 2006 the event took place in Santa Cruz City, in the Colchagua Valley, and presented wineries from Australia (Tyrrels'), Argentina (Don Domenico, Tapiz and Vistalba from Carlos Pulenta), New Zealand (Isabel Estate) and Chile (Santa Cruz, Neyén, La Rosa, Falernia).

This year, the organizers continue the internationalization of this traditional Latin America event, presenting quality wine selections from several countries, such as Australia, USA, Canada, Italy, France, Argentina and, of course, Chile.

The International Wine Press will be represented by several journalists. The magazines Spain, America Economia (Business), and Revista La CAV from Chile, have confirmed their presence in support of the Eighth Wine Salon.

"After organizing the Seventh Annual Salon in the city of Santa Cruz last year, we made a strategic alliance with Felipe Innocenti Barudy, manager of Espacio Cero, to hold this emblematic wine event in Concepcion, one of the cities where the wine has been part of the country's history," said Gabriela Luna Romano, representative of the salon organizers.

"It is necessary to emphasize that Salón del Vino started in the city of La Serena, and every year changes venue. This year it will include several new business sectors, such as tourist industry establishments – Hotels & Resorts – and Real Estate," said Verónica Moreno, producer of the event.

The Region of the Bio Bio is considered one of the most promising Chilean wine zones.
