Italia Gourmet Show Loris Scagliarini - December 8, 2005
The Italia Gourmet Show (IGS) is a one-of-a-kind, Italian-only wine and specialty food trade show in the western United States. The event is dedicated exclusively to importers, distributors, resellers, restauranteurs, wine bar managers, wine collectors, and food and wine writers. Over two days, US trade professionals will have the opportunity to meet Italian producers of quality wines and food, sample their gourmet offerings, compare products, and eventually place orders directly.
Organized by Project4U in collaboration with Italian Flavor Consortium, or the WineCountry.IT department that organizes educational / wholesale market events in the US and other parts of the world, the IGS takes place at at San Francisco's Fort Mason Center, on March 14 and 15, 2006.
This trade show is unique because it presents exclusively Italian high quality specialty foods and regional wines, which are often produced with grape varieties cultivated nowhere else in the world. Italy is the largest world wine producer and grows about 1,000 different grape varieties, counts about 45,000 wineries, and has the largest number of protected typical food products in the world. Our experts know the various regional producers, speak the language, and are committed to selecting only only the very best.
Anyone who has visited Italy is familiar with the great variety, and superior quality, of both wine and food. However, for trade professionals, though traveling to Italy to hunt down these great products might be pleasant, it is also extremely costly and time consuming. The goal of Italia Gourmet Show and the recurring Italian Flavor Forums, is to bring the enogastronomic specialties of Italy to the San Francisco Bay Area, and western US trade professionals.
Admission to the IGS is free of charge to trade professionals and writers, however attendance is strictly by invitation only, and no walk-ins are allowed. If you are an importer, distributor, licensed food and/or alcohol retailer, restauranteur, buyer for restaurant or grocery store, wine bar manager, or wine and food writer interested in attending the Italia Gourmet Show, please register online, contact us via e-mail, or call Project4U at 415-434-4478 and ask for either Gianluca or Stefano.
Workshops on Italian Food and Wine will also be available during the two-day event. Visit the Italian Flavor Forum periodically for updates about the event and the list of exhibitors.
