Tuscany at the UN

From October 6 to October 17, 2003 the United Nations in New York City, hosts a group of Tuscan chefs who will lead seminars and workshops and speak at conferences. In addition, they will cater special evening galas featuring regional specialties.

The event is meant to celebrate Tuscany and its traditional regional cuisine featuring such recipes as the thick Pappa al Pomodoro (Tomato and Bread Soup), zesty Tagliatelle con Braciole alla Fiorentina (Linguini Pasta with Florentine T-bone steak), and Torta della Nonna (Grandma's Cake), possibly the best known dessert originating in Florence.
