2,000 tickets were sold in three days and the total number of enotourists is estimated at around 4,000 plus presences.
 These are the first numbers revealed by the second edition of Calici di Stelle (Wine Chalices of the Stars), a festival that attracts thousands of tourists and wine buffs.
Wine Chalices of the Stars, organized by the regional Delegazione del Friuli Venezia Giulia (Delegation of Friuli Venezia Giulia), in 2002 was set at the Castello di Trieste (Trieste Castle) and expanded in 2003 to other important wine areas such as Grado, Sistiana and Castello di Gorizia.
"I am very satisfied about the positive answers from both wine enthusiasts and simple tourists since Calici di Stelle was planned with the double goal of creating wine culture awareness and promoting enotourism" explained Elda Felluga, president of the Delegazione del Friuli Venezia Giulia, and pointed out the charitable nature of the event. In fact, all proceeds go to charitable organizations.
The next event organized by the regional Delegazione del Friuli Venezia Giulia is the Friuli DOC week-end. On September 20, MTV will award prizes to the winners of the youth contests for the Spirito di Vino, or "Spirit of Wine"(*). The contest links the art of good drinking to the comic art of satire
(*) Spirito di Vino is the name of a print magazine dedicated to Italian wine and a play on words. In fact, Spirito di Vino (Spirit of Wine) and Spirito Divino (Divine Spirit) sound exactly the same in Italian.
