The fourth annual Acquavite Italia, the not-to-be-missed appointment dedicated to spirit lovers and beverage and food sector professionals. The event will take place January 28, 29, and 30, 2011 at the Rocca Paolina, in downtown Perugia, as it did the previous years.
The tag line of the 2011 annual is 'Mondo dei Distillati' (World of Spirits), since in the many booths which will line up at Mostra Mercato (Market Exhibition) many kinds of Italian and international acquavite (eau de vie, or brandy), for a total of over 600 labels, will be presented.
Acquavite Italia style has become more and more professional over the years, thanks to the quality of the spirits presented paired with the consistent repetition of the bere consapevole (responsible drinking) mantra and the absolute prohibition from serving alcoholic beverages to anyone under 18. The 2011 annual marks a particularly important milestone, as it is the first ever Italian event dedicated exclusively to liquors, which has reached the fourth edition.
Protection and prevention, quality and education about spirit consumption, courtesy and professionalism, are the standing values offered to visitors during the upcoming event.
Participants include restauranteurs, beverage and food professionals, journalists, wholesale distributors, and a large numbers of passionate consumers. The 2010 annual recorded the presence of around 15,000 visitors, over 600 of whom participated in the various, diversified guided tastings, marking a 50% increase compared to the 2009 annual event.
Innovative and forward-looking, Acquavite Italia brought itself to the attention of the alcoholic beverage and food industry professionals as a meeting place to negotiate business deals and have a preview of the new products on the market. Above all though, the most gratifying rewards for the organizers, who invested time and money in setting up this recurring event, is the participation of passionate consumers who would not want to miss this unique appointment.
This commercial sector has been strongly affected by the ongoing international economic crisis, as well as the just limitations imposed by the competent authorities upon alcohol consumption. Because of this, Acquavite Italia promotes appropriately distilled spirits by organizing numerous free tasting appointments, educating consumers about how to drink alcoholic beverages, while giving the opportunity to buy and taste honest-to-goodnes rarities and teaching the correct amount of liquor to be drunk, thus promoting the prevention of excessive drinking.
The meeting already scheduled for the 2011 Mostra Mercato are:

It means something like Grappa-go-Round): an appointment dedicated to those who love to pair good spirits with chocolate, cheese, and baked sweets.
