At the event, the exhibitors will have the opportunity to meet local businesses and sign direct contracts with supermarkets, which will be the major target of the show, as well as Chinese importers, owners of specialized stores and buyers for restaurants, hotels, and wine bars.
The show will cover an exhibition area of 48,138 square yards, with 1,057 businesses from 57 different countries. The Sial 2009 annual registered the presence of around 60,000 visitors, 13% of whom were foreigners, mostly from Japan, Korea, Australia, India, and other South East Asian countries.
The trade show was presented by the president of the Italian chapter of the Associazine Cina-Italia, Giuliano Sottani.
The Italian Pavilion will present wine and food products side by side with dinner table accessories, following an original formula which appear to meet the strong Asian demand for quality western products. This kind of arrangement makes the Italian space at the trade show complete, as it offer the whole 'made in Italy' related to eating, drinking and dinner table decor, from wine to extra virgin olive oil, from foodstuff in general to dinner table accessories, to tourist promotion of the best eno-gastronomic areas of the peninsula.
