Wednesday and Thursday, June 3 and 4, 2009, from 6:00 to 11 PM, at Battipaglia's La Fabbrica dei Sapori (The Flavor Factory) – an ancient preserve factory remodeled and transformed into a multi-function center, with spaces dedicated to promoting and teaching people how to use local typical and traditional food products – the second annual "Coda di Volpe e Voglia di Asprinio Wine Festival (Fox Tail Grape and Desire for Asprinio Grape Wine Festival), an event focusing on one of the most widespread native vines in the Campania region, the Coda di Volpe, with a section dedicated at the white native wine Asprinio, from Aversa.

The event will feature products from the following wineries, from the following wine zones:

Both evenings will be featured live on the following TV channels:

Entry to the events and tasting are free.

Participation on each guided tasting is limited to a maximum of 25 people.

Participation on the chef's tasting of food and wine pairings must be reserved in advance.

    White Wine and Well Being, with Eugenio Luigi Iorio, surgeon, biochemist,
    president of the Osservatorio Internazionale dello Stress Ossidativo (International Observatory of Oxidadant Stress)

    Tasting desk featuring Coda di Volpe wines from Sannio and Irpinia producers

Theme: The Coda di Volpe and Lacryma Christi Bianco on Mount Vesuvius

  • 6:30PM
    Guided tasting moderated by Pasquale Brillante, delegate AIS (Italian Association of Sommeliers) for the Mount Vesuvius Municipalities
  • 7:30PM – Guided tasting:
    The Asprinio from Aversa, moderated by Marco Ricciardi, delegate AIS for Caserta
  • 8:30PM – Presentation to the press of I Giorni del Lacryma Christi (The Days of the Lacryma Christi), second wine competition 'Amodio Pesce', which will take place at the Palazzo Mediceo in Ottaviano from September 11 to September 13, 2009.
    with Michele Romano, President of the Strada del Vino Vesuvio (Mount Vesuvius Wine Road), and Ugo Baldassarre, journalist.
  • From 7:30 to 11PM
    Tasting desk featuring Coda di Volpe and Lacryma Christi Bianco wines from Naples
  • From 8:30 on
    Pairing with Mediterranean blue fish cooked by the following restaurants:

Stefano Pagliuca Antica Panetteria dei Buoni Sapori di Melito (Good Flavors of Melito Ancient Bakery) in Naples, presents, La pizza della tradizione con la pasta del 'pane a canestrella' e parmigiana di melanzane (The Traditional Pizza with 'canestrella bread type' dough and Eggplant Parmesan).
