After appointments in Naples and Merano, the enogastronomic show entitled Cooking for Wine, conceived by wine and food journalist, Luigi Cremona, arrives in Tuscany.
The appointment is from March 1 to 5, 2009, and is part of the 29th annual Mostra Convegno Tirreno C.T. (Exhibit Convention [of the] Tyrrhenian Sea), the trade show dedicated to restaurant and hotel sectors. The trade show is organized by Tirreno Trade in Versilia, at the Fiera Internazionale di Marina di Carrara (International Trade Fair of Marina di Carrara).
The newest addition to this year's show is the elegant lounge where Cooking for Wine will take place. The reserved entrance space will offer a private room for business meetings, but at the same time it will be the source of ongoing entertainment. As in a theater, participants will have the opportunity to taste various finger food items prepared before their eyes in the showcase kitchen, which offers the opportunity to follow the chefs' procedures, as well as interact with them. Obviously, given the focus of the event, each food tasting will be paired with the wine, or wines, for which the food was prepared.
The goal of Cooking for Wine Tirreno 2009 is to focus on products which offer a noteworthy quality/price ratio.
During the cooking show, presented by Luigi Cremona, the participating chefs will prepare their own recipes using simple, genuine products, with one eye on the quality and the other on the cost. The idea is to find the best ingredients the market can offer without breaking the bank for the restauranteur or the diner. In this period of lean cows, chefs and restauranteurs must take the cost of the ingredients used in their kitchens into consideration, without compromising the quality of their menus.
With this challenge in mind, chefs, cuisine gurus, and emerging young talents as well, will face off in preparing full gourmet menus using inexpensive products which offer good quality and result in excellent dishes.
