Seven months before the exhibition opens its doors, Vinexpo, the international wine and spirits exhibition taking place in Bordeaux, France from June 21st to June 25th 2009, has already reached its sales objectives and will have a total booth area of more than 430,000 square feet. Large international companies like Marnier Lapostolle, Concha y Toro, Taittinger and Remy Cointreau were the first to register. Alongside these major players, a good number of smaller and middle-sized companies such as Heaven Hill Distilleries, Georges Duboeuf and Symington Family Estates have also confirmed their participation. Main wine producing countries like the USA, Germany, Portugal, Italy, Brazil and Spain have already reserved areas for their national pavilions. The total floor area for the entire Vinexpo exhibition – which includes the exhibition halls, the gardens, the Club du Lac (Lake Club), the restaurants, the conferences and tasting rooms – will be close to an astounding 1,000,000 square feet, or more than 17 American football fields!

The innovations started with the 2007 Vinexpo show, in 2009 will be bigger and improved.
Marketers by Vinexpo, for instance, is a distinct section of the exhibition focusing on companies that specialize in wine and spirits marketing, equipment, packaging and solutions for improving wine and spirits consumer sales, which will be held in a wider space of the Bordeaux Convention Center.
The famed Vinexpo lake is certainly a central component of Vinexpo's architecture – so it isn't a surprise that the 2007 Club du Lac concept proved to be a great success. In 2009, it will again be a sophisticated meeting venue, with the largest companies participating, including such celebrated names as Baron Philippe de Rothschild and Champagne Deutz among others, which will entertain their guests in style with air-conditioned pavilions, private gardens and patios overlooking the lake.
Finally, the undisputed star of Vinexpo 2007, the floating footbridge, will be installed again on the lake in 2009. Elegant, but above all practical, the bridge was clearly popular as several thousand people used it every day.
Major promotional campaign set to capture the trade's attention.
In 2007, more than 50,000 visitors from 154 countries attended Vinexpo, including importers, distributors, sales representatives, hotel managers, restauranteurs, and buyers from supermarkets and superstores, specialty chains, wine & spirits shops and the Duty Free industry. To promote the 2009 exhibition with the sector professionals, Vinexpo launches a wide promotional and informational campaign, consisting of 19 press conferences and meetings with trade professionals in major markets such as New York, Paris and London. The program also includes an e-mail campaign, brochures and a targeted premium media plan.
Vinexpo provides the latest information on markets and future trends.
For each of the last 12 years, Vinexpo has commissioned a forward-looking study of the world's wine and spirits markets from British consultants, the International Wine and Spirit Record (IWSR). The study analyzes changes in the production of 28 countries and consumption in 114 countries. The results for the US market will be unveiled as a worldwide exclusive at a press conference in New York, on January 28, 2009, at the Four Seasons Hotel. For more information or to register, please e-mail.
Other conferences will be held in Paris, London, Montreal, Toronto, Seoul, Tokyo, Singapore, Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Brussels, Moscow, Wiesbaden, Amsterdam and Milan.
