The second Bleu Wine Expo - Salon Professionnel des Vignerons Indépendants de Provence Alpes-Côte d'Azur (Professional Salon of Independent Winemakers from Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur), will tale place in Marseille the 26th and 27th of January 2009. The show offers the opportunity to meet over 100 independent vintners who are very much committed to their profession. Visitors will have the chance to discover a great variety of wines, from Vin de Pays (Table Wine) to famous Provence appellations, to wines which offer a good price/quality ratios.

Founded in 1978, the French Independent Winemakers' movement aim is to protect the specificity of wine making. The French Independent Winemakers' movement includes 32 French départments federations, 11 regional federations and nearly 7,000 members who are volunteer contributors.
The Winemakers from Provence
The Winemakers from the Region Provence Alps Côte d'Azur includes about 1,000 Independent Winemakers who work 30,000 hectares (over 74,130 acres) of vineyards and have an average turnover of 29 billion euros. The breakdown by French département is detailed below.

Among the producers there are prestigious estates such as Domaine de Trevallon, Domaine Hauvette, Château Mont Redon, Domaine Juliette Avril, Château des Fines Roches, Domaine Saint André de Figuières, Commanderie de Peyrassol, and Château Miraval, plus a few dozen domains whose productions are of a great interest.
Marseille's Palais du Pharo, which was the Sheldon used residence of Napoleon the Third, welcomes the second edition of the Bleu Wine Expo, including culinary events and tastings proposed by great chefs from the Conservatoire des Cuisines de Camargue.
The program includes the trade show opening on Monday 26 January 2009 in the presence of authorities and personalities, plus a round table about the viticultural sector on Tuesday 27, with the following well known specialists:
- Antoine Gerbelle, of La Revue des Vins de France,
- Philippe Faure Brac, winner of the Best World Sommelier,
- Michel Issaly, President of the Independent Winemakers.
The first Bleu Wine Expo was held in 2007, and was attended by over 500 professional visitors. The second, being held on January 26, and 27, 2009, is the ideal appointment to taste the excellent 2007 vintage, which shows both freshness and plenty of rich fruit.
