As usual, this this is an important moment for the Pignoletto, which is the flagship native (autoctono) wine from the Bologna Hills, in its dry, lightly sparkling (Frizzante) and full sparkling versions, as well as for all the other DOC wines from the Colli Bolognesi in general, including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, Barbera, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, among others.
In addition to giving residents and wine tourists alike the opportunity to enjoy the ancient architectural beauty of downtown Bologna, the Mostra-Assaggio invites all those interested to visit the participating wineries, scattered among the Colli (hills) surrounding the Two-Towered city. One of the renewed objectives of the Consorzio Vini Colli Bolognesi, which for some months now has been under the leadership of its new president, Francesco Cavazza Isolani, is the creation of 360-degree promotional synergies, which include in addition to wine, all the other food and cultural goodies offered by a region which is known worldwide for its excellent, superior local cuisine.

The producers will be on hand to share anecdotes and technical information about their wines poured under the porticos and inside the corte (yard). During the event organized in collaboration with the Corte Isolani Consortium, the store in the Corte will be open to the public, and authorized re-sellers will offer a wine list by the glass featuring wines exclusively from the Colli Bolognesi.
Saturday, September 26 and 27, at 5PM and 7PM the Mostra-Assaggio offers guided tastings organized by the Consorzio Vini Colli Bolognesi, in collaboration with the Bologna chapters of Slow Food and AIS (Italian Association of Sommeliers).
The official presentation of the program will take place at 11:30 of Friday, September 12, 2008, at the booth of the Chamber of Commerce of Bologna at the Fiera di Bologna (Bologna Trade Show Center), on the occasion of the SANA (Salone Internazionale del Naturale, or International Salon of Natural Products)). During the presentation a new, exciting pairing will be proposed between Pignoletto and oysters from the Adriatic Sea.
