From May 5, to 8, 2008, the Cibus food trade show is in Parma, which provides an evocative format to further enrich the 14th international showcase for Italian food stuff. Parma is a city where food is culture and a way of life which hints at the genuine flavor of ancient traditions. At Cibus the atmosphere is convivial, offering the opportunity to sit down at a table and, in addition to the table setting, find smiling faces and pleasant company. In addition, Parma offers meeting moments such as Le Cene di Babette (Babette's Feasts, in reference to the 1987 Danish Academy Award winning movie with the same title), or a series of dinners with famous entertainers, writers, musicians, to pair the pleasure of a cultural evening with the pleasure of good food, in perfect Parma style.

On Saturday, May 3rd, once again GNAM, or Gastronomy in Modern Art will start, hosted in various places around town until the 3rd of June 2008. Once again Parma, the international capital city of food, plays host to intelligent suggestions on this theme, on a project which highlights photography as the favorite medium for representing food and nutrition. From photographs, the organizers move on to movies, with two evening at the Cinema Edison, organized in collaboration with the Cineteca di Bologna and Slow Food on Film, for films where food is the central theme.

Other side events include the evening with author Laura Delli Colli, who will present her book Il gusto del cinema in 100 ricette (The Flavor of Cinema in 100 Recipes), and the exhibition of images from the Italian Fellini's cult movie La dolce vita (The Sweet Life), by Marcello Geppetti. Finally, photographer Arturo Delle Donne presents the photo show Cuochi stellari (Stellar Chefs), featuring the chefs from the Parma Restaurant Quality Club affiliated with the Parma chapter of ASCOM.
