Montiferru Extra Virgin Olive Oil Workshop Staff Writer - February 13, 2008
From the 28th of February to the 2nd of March 2008, the Fifteenth Edition of the "Premio Nazionale Montiferru" (Montiferru National Prize), organized by the Montiferru Committee, takes place in Oristano and Seneghe, on the beautiful Italian island of Sardinia. The goal of the events is to select and award prizes to the best Italian extra virgin olive oils.

Various oil producers from 16 Italian regions will gather in Seneghe, near Oristano, to participate in this important competition. For the occasion, the Montiferru Committee has planned a matchmaking event where, in addition to the oil producers selected for the final stage of Montiferru Award, the buyers of the best Italian olive oil will meet local wine producers.

- 9:30 to 11:30am, Oristano
Guided olive oil tasting at Panel Test.
- 11:30am to 1:30pm, Oristano
Visit to the "Terre Shardana Local Market", with tasting of Montiferru typical products.
- 3 to 6pm, Seneghe
Workshop and one-on-one meetings between buyers and oil and wine producers.
- 8:30pm, Seneghe
Tasting of Montiferru typical products and folkloric entertainment.

Buyers and oil producers are invited to participate in the Winner Oil Producer Award Ceremony, held in Seneghe on March 2, 2008, at 10am. In addition, buyers are warmly invited to participate in the workshop and the Montiferru Committee will gladly provide logistic support and accommodation.
