At 8:08AM we board one of the new Italian high speed trains to Piacenza. The reserved seats are very comfortable and quite spacious, so that we are able to review and compare our tasting notes, summarize what we need to do for the follow up with the estates with which we may work in the future.

From Rimini to Piacenza, to Voghera

From Piacenza we take a regional train to Voghera, where we arrive a few minutes before noon and find Elena Vigni, PR person for Acqua Minerale San Felice, and Gianni Scavenna, Vice President of the Holding Group waiting for us at the train station. We go first at the home office of Scavenna, located in the central town square for a business meeting, which we then continue in a nearby pizzeria where we grab a quick lunch, and complete it back at Scavenna home office.

From Voghera to Milano Rogoredo, to Castelfranco Emilia

By 3:30PM Brigit and I are back at Voghera train station where we board a train for Milano Rogoredo, then a connection to Castelfranco Emilia, where we arrive after 7PM.

Back in the frescoed apartment we dine at home with pane carasau, mozzarella, olives and a couple of glasses of Nero di Castellazzo vintage 2006, the very dark wine made with the Emilia native vine, Ancellotta, by Vitivinicola Rota.
