Third day of cork study in enology Pavia Chamber of Commerce - January 10, 2004
The cork: comparison of experiences>
The Pavia Chamber of Commerce presents the third day of cork study in collaboration with Piacenza's Institute at Enology and Alimentary Engineering of the Catholic University of Sacred Heart.
The goal of the meeting is to bring different professional figures involved in cork control, enologists, cork makers and analysts together to describe their experiences and present the different perspective from the different fields of interest.
The speakers, who come from various cork-producing and cork-consuming countries, will introduce the present status and scientific knowledge of the subject, as it relates to enological cork usage.
The previous two days of study held in 1993 and 1996, represented important advances in drawing conclusions as to the theorical as well as practical intellingence in this important economical aspect of wine-producing sector.
This is a very important event for this area of Italy, characterized by viticulture and vocational productivity, which enliven the local entrepreneurial spirit.
Piero Mossi, president of Pavia's CCIAA (Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Artisans), said that he is "happy to host such event, considering that grape growing and wine making represent an important segment of the national economy and its development is partially due to the committment of and promotion by the Chamber of Commerce association".
