Quaglietti Nominated 'Opes Gusto' President Staff Writer - July 12, 2006
Pier Francesco Quaglietti, a journalist from Todi, in the Italian region of Umbria, expert in gastronomy and tourism, and previously press officer for important Italian fairs and public events, has been nominated national president of 'Opes Gusto'. The association is recognized by the CONI (Comitato Olimpico Nazionale Italiano, or Italian National Olympic Committee) and operates in the field of sports education.
The goal of 'Opes Gusto' is to promote cuisine and wine in Italy, in connection with local traditions and culture.
Thanking Riccardo Bartollini, national president of 'Opes Italia', Pier Francesco Quaglietti announced that the 'Opes Gusto' program will be presented in Rome, in September, during a press conference held specifically for that purpose. The first public initiative promoted by the organization will be held in October, with the award of the Opes Prize to wine and food publishers and journalists.
Quaglietti, who in in the past organized various thematic evenings in Umbria, in collaboration with the Italia News 2003 association, said that a national celebration entitled 'Pasta ... che bontà' ('Pasta ... How Delicious'), will take place in November in the historic town of Assisi, with the participation of top Italian food enterprises.
