During the Visit of Italian President Carlo Azelio Ciampi to China, the Official Toast is Made with Spumante Ferrari Staff Writer - December 11, 2004
During Italian President, Carlo Azelio Ciampi, and Foreign Minister, Gianfranco Fini's recent visit to China, the official toast was made with Spumante Ferrari. As it happens, the Italian President celebrated his 84th birthday during the State visit.
Ferrari, an appreciated Trentino wine producer, prepared a special bottle in the jeroboam format for this historic event and set it in a precious cherry wood case.
The label is one of a kind as well and features various symbols drawn from the Chinese culture, both in the color pattern and in the graphic design.
The color red is the symbol for presents, as well for fortune, while the dragon is the symbol for the year 2000, that is, the vintage year of the wine. The good wish sentence on the label, written in Chinese characters, means "Italy salutes China".
We compliment the renowned wine maker from Trentino and wish him a bright commercial future in China, whose GDP is expected to grow a healthy 9 percent in 2005.
