The Regional School Specialized in Restaurant Management Has Opened its First Educational Center Daniele Bondi - March 2, 2005
Saturday, February 26, 2005 the first Modena Educational Center by the Regional School Specialized in Restoration (SRSR) was inaugurated.
The following speakers introduced the event , held at the Spilamberto headquarters of the Consorteria (Association) of the Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale di Modena (ABTM, or Traditional Balsamic Vinegar from Modena):
- Giorgio Cappi SRSR (head),
- Mariangela Bastico (regional school and education councilor),
- Emilio Sabattini (President of Modena's Provincial Administration),
- Giancarlo Pellacani (rector of the Universities of Modena and Reggio Emilia),
- Alberto Mantovani (President of the Modena Chamber of Commerce) and
- Francesco Lamandini (Spilamberto's mayor).
In the coming months , the Regional School will open five more Educational Centers in the Imola and Piacenza areas.
Modena's Educational Center, that will be managed by the Scuola Alberghiera di Serramazzoni, offers training and educational courses to business operators in the agricultural and restaurant sectors about the use of ABTM, as well as the promotion of such product both in Italy and overseas.
At the Spilamberto City Hall, Giorgio Cappi presented the project, highlighting the importance of the initiative for the local restaurant business. With the guaranteed the backing of the Emilia-Romagna regional administration, councilor Bastico pointed to a growth in educational training related to typical regional food products.
"The growing worldwide notoriety of the ABTM, which could be compared to that of the Ferrari car brand in the automotive sector and could mightily improve the high profile of the made in Modena brand, generating positive reactions across the board for both provincial tourist and commercial entities", said the President of Modena's Provincial Administration, Sabbatini. In closing, the President of the Consorteria, Francesco Saccani, guided the visit to the Educational Center, where the Scuola Alberghiera di Serramazzoni had prepared a standing buffet based on Modenese typical specialties paired with ABTM.
