Planned study and work experience exchanges between Caribbean and Emilian students

On April 15, 2004, at the Scuola Alberghiera di Serramazzoni (School for Hotel and Restaurant Management of Serramazzoni) an important meeting between representatives of the Emilia-Romagna Region and the Dutch Antilles' Minister of Economy and Business, Burney El Hage took place. The goal of the encounter was to intensify the cultural and educational exchange programs between wine and food students, with visits both in Italy and in the Caribbean islands of Aruba, Bonarie and Curaçao.

Netherlands AntillesThe signed agreement has the following objectives:

  • Host students from Caribbean food preparation schools take a one-month formative course. The program will be starting in October 2004 and repeated in 2005, 2006 and 2007 in various Emilia-Romagna food preparation schools;
  • Plan and set up a program for one-month formative courses in the Caribbean islands for students of the various Emilia-Romagna food preparation schools for the years 2005, 2006, and 2007;
  • Offer a summer work program in Emilia-Romagna hotels and restaurants for small groups of Caribbean students starting June, 2004.
