The nomination of Anna Brisotto was applauded by the associates, and had the backing of the various categories represented within the board of directors. The goal is to improve the quality of the products, expand promotional initiatives, as well as protect and increase the intrinsic value of the DOP.

"I am honored and proud to accept this prestigious position," said the newly elected president, "I feel a particular responsibility and am aware of the fact that the consortium represents an important instrument for all the parties involved with the DOC."

The election of Anna Brisotto follows the presidency of Piergiovanni Pistoni, which lasted close to 20 years.

"I am pleased by the choice of the board of directors" said Pistoni, "Anna comes from one of the historic [wine producing] families who contributed to advancing the DOC Grave. I wish her and the board of directors all the best in continuing to work successfully for the exclusive well being and development of the production zone, which is the true heritage of the consortium."

"The consortium carries out very important functions, such as harmonizing the expectations of all the associate producers, as well as forwarding the concerns of the whole area to favor the development of the DOC, while guaranteeing the respect of the production rules," added Anna Brisotto. "It is a difficult and ambitious road, but I am certain that, with the commitment, support, and participation of everyone involved, it is possible to give way to initiatives aimed at promoting the knowledge of the DOC Friuli Grave wines more aggressively."

Along with Anna Brisotto, owner of the estate San Simone in Porcia, the vice presidents, Pietro Biscontin of Cantina La Delizia in Casarsa and Michelangelo Tombacco of Azienda I Magredi in Domanins, were elected. The board of directors includes, Maria Pia Bianchi (Azienda Bianchi in San Vito al Tagliamento), Giuseppe Crovato (Bertiolo Winery), Alessandro Gallici (Azienda Banear in Treppo Grande), Fernando Pighin (Azienda Pighin in Pavia di Udine), Gianni Tommasini (Winery of Sacile and Fontanafredda), Stefano Trinco (Azienda Vigneti Pittaro in Codroipo).
