The first edition of DiVino Tuscany, a highly exclusive, invitation-only event featuring 50 top wine producers handpicked by James Suckling, will take place in Florence, Italy from the second to the fifth of June, 2011.
This unprecedented celebration of Tuscany's finest winemakers will bring together the top wine professionals from around the world. Fifty wine producers, hand-picked by eminent wine critic and Tuscan wine expert James Suckling, will join forces for the first time in history during a four-day event filled with exclusive tastings, master classes and gala dinners in Florence's most prestigious Palazzi.
Highlights will include grand tastings featuring top-rated wines from both newer and older vintages, poured by the winemakers and estate owners in person, who will promote, share and demystify their wines.
Grand dinners hosted in private Palazzi by well-known Tuscan wine families and estates, including among others Antinori, Frescobaldi, Mazzei, Ferragamo, Corsini, and Banfi, will provide a unique setting of access to these normally private estates. Participants will have the privilege of attending tutored tastings led by James Suckling at the gorgeous Palazzo Capponi, complemented by his guest panelists and experts.
The event will close with a relaxed country lunch featuring a traditional Tuscan pig roast hosted by Sting and Trudie Styler at Il Palagio, their private villa just outside Florence.
