Fourth Annual Sapori diVini at Pinerolo

The 4th annual Sapori diVini (onomatopoeic play on words which means "Divine Flavors' as well as 'Flavor of Wines') opens Saturday, May 27, 2006. The enogastronomy event is organized in late spring by the tourist association Pro Pinerolo and this year it lasts for over two weeks.

The program is filled with several appointments, including art exhibition and entertainment, as well as wine tasting guided by ONAV's professional tasters and the Laboratorio del Gusto (Taste laboratory,) with Slow Food and the Association of Italian Sommeliers, plus the final market exhibition of typical food products and Piedmont's DOC and DOCG wines.

At 5PM on Saturday, May 27, at Palazzo Vittone, in the central Piazza Vittorio Veneto, the program will be officially presented with the opening of two art shows. The first, 'Il Vino è Vicino' (The Wine is Near), will exhibit works by painter, Carlo Rivetti from Turin, and will be open until June 4, 2006. The other exhibition, entitled 'Alle origini del gusto alberga una bellezza' (At the Roots of Flavor Beauty is Hosted), is managed by the Club di Papillon, headed by the wine and food journalist, Paolo Massobrio and will be open to the public until June 11, 2006.

Wine Tasting with Sauro Avezza and Ernesto Gardiol, ONAV experts

On Wednesday, May 30, the first guided tasting with the ONAV experts Sauro Avezza and Ernesto Gardiol takes place. After a brief introduction and the presentation of the enological production from the Altotesino wine zone, the two experts wine tasters will lead the participants to the discovery of six white Trentino-Alto Adige native vines: Nosiola Trentina, Moscato Giallo, Gewurztraminer, Sauvignon, Riesling and Traminer Aromatico.

Pinerolo historic downtown Traditional market exhibition of typical wine and food quality products from Piedmont and Aosta Valley as guest region.

A program filled with appointments for both the Pinerolo residents, the numerous gourmands visiting from various parts of Italy, and for those among the general public who, for the first time, enter this fascinating world of flavors.
