First Appointment with the 'Incontri d'Autore con il Produttore'

Sunday, April 2, 2006 a new series of events promoted by the agriturismo Paideia di Borgo Priolo, the 'Incontri d'Autore con il Produttore', or 'Author Meeting with the Producer' opens.

The idea is to add moments of enological education and culture linked to the Sunday lunch to the usual 'Weekend del Gusto' ('Tasteful Weekends'). In fact, in addition to being able to enjoy the special 'Weekend del Gusto' menu from Friday to Sunday evening, after the Sunday lunch featuring the specialties prepared in Claudia's kitchen, the guests can visit a producer of typical wines from the Oltrepò Pavese wine zone.

The series opens Sunday, April 2nd, by visiting a historic, typical Oltrepò Pavese wine produce, Enzo Padroggi from Azienda Agricola Cà del Gè.

Getting to know Enzo means getting an understanding of this wine producing area's history. In fact, Padroggi is a man who has dedicate all of his life to the vineyard and the cellar, forgoing holidays and daringly caring for the grapes in the field and the grape juice in at the winery. Lovingly, he oversees the maturation of the precious juice, from crushing to bottling great wines, which can be either young, lively and ready to be drunk, or else aged and complex, perflect to pair with reflective moments.

The series 'Incontri d'Autore con il Produttore' will continue every Sunday throughout May 14, 2006.

  • Sunday, April 2, 2006 program:
    • 1:00PM: Lunch at the agriturismo featuring the 'Weekend del Gusto' menu
    • 4:30PM: Leave the agriturismo for the Azienda Agricola Cà del Gè in Montalto Pavese
    • 5:00PM: Arrive at the winery.
      Mert the producer and visit the winery.
      Wine tasting.
  • 'Weekend del Gusto' menu
    • Fried Pie Claudia and Ilda style with Bondiola Piacentina
    • Oven-baked Belgian salad with cooked prosciutto and vegetable cream
    • Saffron risotto with small stewed luganiga (kind of salami) bites
    • Pasta wrappings filled with asparagus and tomato coulisse
    • Cabbage stuffed with pork and vegetables
    • Herb-flavored Gorgonzola cheese with pears in red wine and cooked must sauce
    • Semifreddo with zabaione and caramelized strawberries
    • Soft almond crunch covered with chocolate
    • Espresso coffee
