Amerigo
Still in Emilia, the second restaurant is located in the lower foothills of the Bolognese Apennines, in downtown Savigno, a historic small town where in the early 1900s, Amerigo Vespucci opened an Osteria naming it after himself. Obviously the founder wasn't the famous sea traveler after whom the two American continents were named after, it's rather a simple case of two people with the same name.
Though the place has been renovated many times over the past 70 years, to allow the addition of modern comfort as it becomes available and necessary, the eatery has maintained a romantic flair and a truly pleasant feeling of times past.
On the walls, ancient peasant tools and accessories are on display, alternated with antique posters. The entrees simple recipes highlight the finesse and genuinity of the restaurant. The passionate care dedicated to finding the best products available locally, all strictly selected by Alberto Bettini, grandson of Amerigo and current owner / manager, are most appreciated by the affectionate clientele. Thanks to the high quality of the food and the excellence of the Bettini's management the restaurant is well known by a wide number of patrons who do not mind hopping into their cars and driving to Savigno, just to dine at Amerigo. The awarding of one star – out of three stars – by the famous Michelin Red Guide marked a well deserved recognition.

Just beside the restaurant Bettini opened a deli that sells select products as well as specialties produced on the premises. The bottega (store) is aligned with decor and style of the restaurant. The latest enterprise launched by Bettini is a locanda, a boutique country inn with just a few rooms, nearby the historic center of town.
