'Abitare la Storia', or 'Living in History'
'Abitare la Storia' is an association founded in 1995 to organize restaurants and hotels housed in antique buildings, across the Italian cities and countryside. The goal of the association is to promote the style and tradition of the Italian hospitality, guaranteeing visitors that they will be welcomed with professionalism and courtesy, offering an overall unique staying experience to hosts who appreciate living within and surrounded by centuries of history and art.
Recently 'Abitare la Storia' reached an agreement with journalist, Luigi Cremona, who, in addition to being chief editor of both Touring Club Italiano's Hotel Guide and Restaurant Guide, is a knowledgeable insider of the tourist and hotel industry. Thus, the association now counts on a professional consultant who will contribute further to cunducting selective, critical and precise selection of the tourist destination interested in becoming members.
The agenda of the organization is filled with numerous marketing initiatives, including being present at the most important tourist trade shows, such as last November World Trade Market in London. In addition, 'Abitare la Storia' organizes specific events which contribute to giving more resilience and to increasing the prestige and visibility of its associates.
The organization accepts only the best hotels and restaurants, those that are most representative and offer the best comfort to their patrons. The strict prerequisites contribute to guaranteeing quality and prestige to even the most demanding international guests who visit Italy every year.

Currently 'Abitare la Storia' is associated with the Historical Hotels of Europe and partner of the FAI (Fund for the Italian Environment), the Touring Club Italiano, the Historical Hotels of America, and the prestigious Karen Brown guide. The 2006 directory has been printed in 20,000 copies.
