July 21, 2009: Gala evening for the completion of the Bailli de Suffren regatta.
The wines of Cantina Ritterhof, owned by Roner AG Distillery, and located in Caldaro, in the province of Bolzano, were chosen to pair with the menu served during the gala evening organized on the occasion of the 2009 Bailli de Suffren regatta prize giving.
In particular, the 2007 Pinot Grigio Crescendo was particularly appreciated for its personality, structure and perfumes, and was poured to pair the whole seafood dinner, consisting of Saint-Jacques' skewer, small fisherman roast, green salad and stuffed zucchini.
"It has been a very important event for us", said Karin Roner, administrator of the estate, " because it confirmed the international appreciation for our products, which can stand out even in the highest gastronomic contest and in prestigious settings".
The evening gala took place at the exclusive of the Yacht Club Monaco, with the participation of about 200 guests, including ship owners, team leaders, skippers and crew od the sailboats which participated in the regatta.
The 2009 was the seventh annual Bailli de Suffren regatta. It took off from Saint Tropez, France,on Saturday, June 27, and ended in the Principality of Monte Carlo on Friday, July 10, after two intermediate stops in Porto Cervo, Sardinia, and on the island of Gaeta, Italy. he Bailli de Suffren regatta is among the main appointments of the international sailing competition scene.
