On June 4 and 5, 2009, at the historic Grand Hotel di Rimini –which was made immortal by unforgettable maestro Federico Fellini in his film, 'Amarcord' (Romagna dialect for 'I Remember')– four Italian and French Michelin-star awarded chefs, will get together at a great event entitled 'A tavola con le stelle', or 'Eating with the Stars'. The program includes a gastronomic atelier and tasting open to the public. After the first annual held in the Beaujolais area, not far from Lyons, the great 'A tavola con le stelle' wine and food extravaganza goes to Rimini, on the Adriatic coast of the Mediterranean sea in Romagna. The event finishes up with a 'flavor trail' featuring the best of the Romagna and Beaujolais regions' wines and food.

Two French chefs, one from the Beaujolais and the other from the Rhône-Alpes regions, will cook along with two colleagues from the Romagna area, for the European project, 'A tavola con le stelle'. On one end the project promotes the typical products of two European gourmet tourist destinations, while on the other end the interaction across borders in the quality wine and food sectors is stimulated. 'A tavola con le stelle' is organized by the Italian Chamber of Commerce of Rimini and Forlì-Cesena, while in France it is supported by the Pays Beaujolais Développement (Develpment of the Beaujolais Towns), with the participation of the Rhône Alpes region, Destination Beaujolais, Rhône Alpes Tourisme (Rhône Alpes Tourism) and help from the CCI de Villefranche et du Beaujolais, CCI de Lyon délégation de Tarare and the Italian CCI (Chamber of Commerce) in Lion.
The two Italian chefs, Vincenzo Cammerucci and Alberto Faccani, are both from Romagna and are the head chefs of the Lido Lido and Magnolia di Cesenatico restaurants. The French chefs are Matthieu Fontaine, head chef at the Château de Bagnols, Pays Beaujolais des Pierres Dorées, near Lion, and Davy Tissot, director and chef of the Les Terrasses de Lyon Villa Florentine restaurant in Lion.

The four chefs will be assisted by Claudio Di Bernardo, chef and food and beverage manager at the Grand Hotel Rimini –which was declared a national monument in 1994– as well as a pool of Italian and French chefs from another European project entitled 'Formazione Gastronomica Crociata' (Cross-Educational Gastronomy), which aims at expanding the knowledge of Italian and French chefs by promoting exchanges across the border.
The €35 ticket includes tasting of the five dishes prepared by the chefs, paired with the best wines from Romagna and Beaujolais.

After the success of the first annual held on March 2008 at the Château de Bagnols, 'A tavola con le stelle' moves to Rimini, on the Adriatic coast of Italy, with three Wine and Food Ateliers open to the general public. These are veritable flavor labs, where the chefs will alternate at the burners, cooking a vista, or open to the public, who will learn their cooking secrets from the chefs.
During the two days of the show, an articulate shopping path open to consumers will be set up in the gardens of the Grand Hotel Rimini to offer tastings and sell the best regional wine and food the two zones represented. The access to the gardens will be free of charge and will be open on Thursday from 2 to 7:30PM, on Friday from 7AM to 12:30PM, and again from 2 to 7:30PM.
In addition, at 10AM on Friday there will be a workshop dedicated to wine and food professionals and the trade press.
Event within the Event: Finals of the Miglior Sommelier di Romagna
During the wine and food atelier of Thursday, June 4, at 7:30PM, 'A tavola con le stelle' will host an event within the event. The Associazione Italiana Sommeliers - sezione Romagna (Romagna Chapter of the Association of Italian Sommeliers) will hold the finals of the competition entitled Miglior Sommelier di Romagna (Best Romagna Sommelier). The competing sommeliers will taste the wine in the presence of the participating public.
