"The Radicchio Rosso di Treviso and the Variegato di Castelfranco (varieties of leaf chicory typical of the Treviso area) continue to be the centerpiece of winter menus", said Arturo Filippini, President of the Consorzio Ristoranti del Radicchio (Consortium of the Radicchio restaurants). "Thanks to the cooperation of friend restauranteurs in the Tyrolean area, we are able to showcase our province to all of the Alpine touriss once again this year."
This year as well, the opening evening of the traditional Radicchio sulla Neve (Radicchio on the Snow) took place at the enchanting Panoramahotel Emma of Martina Pitscheider, in San Vigilio di Marebbe, December 18, 2008. Radicchio sulla Neve is the gastronomic extravaganza which joins in virtual fraternity six Alto Adige restaurant with the nine Treviso restaurants associated with the consortium.
"This event is giving us great satisfaction," added Filippini. "In fact, this year Ristorante Schöneck as well decided to participate along with our other friends from South Tyrol, and offer delectable recipes featuring the radicchio trevigiano. Two gastronomic cultures which continue to draw the interest of the professional of the food sector as well as that of the gourmands", continued Filippini.

Thanks to the six participating restaurants, Radicchio sulla Neve offers tourists who love the Alps and winter sports the opportunity to enjoy traditional Tyrolean cuisine featuring the slightly bitter flavor of the renowned red chicory from Treviso.
